Zusammenfassung: | Airborne measurements made in the vicinity of Barrow, Alaska, during early spring revealed relatively large concentrations of giant (>2- mu m-diameter) particles in the air. Their concentrations varied approximately with the inverse cube of the particle diameter. These particles were not well correlated with the layers of visible haze observed. They appeared to be approximately uniformly distributed from altitudes of 0.3-5 km, regardless of the presence or absence of Arctic haze. |
