Zusammenfassung: | A weather-education program, developed with funding from the National Science Foundation, is currently in operation in New York City's Community School District 11. The program's governing principle is that pupil participation in activities involving the utilization of current weather information can help precollege students to develop an interest in science. The program capitalizes on recent technological advances in telecommunications and microcomputer processing that have made it feasible for educational institutions at all levels to gain access to a variety of meteorological products. A national weather-study program for precollege students now is a realistic goal. |
