Cuckoo Wasps of Pennsylvania (Hymenoptera: Chrysididae)

An annotated checklist of the forty-seven species of Chrysididae from Pennsylvania is presented. The checklist is based primarily on 655 by-catch specimens collected by the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture during statewide exotic pest surveys from 2011–2013. Additional records from the literature and regional museum collections are also summarized. We confirm county-level localities in Pennsylvania for thirty-nine species belonging to fifteen genera. Three species, Caenochrysis areolata (Mocsáry), Ca. deversor (Bohart), and Chrysis conica Brullé are reported from Pennsylvania for the first time. Caenochrysis deversor (Bohart) has not been previously reported east of the Mississippi River and may represent a recent accidental introduction to the state.
