Zusammenfassung: | Oxidative stress has been implicated in the development and progression of hypertension. This review presents a comprehensive summary of original investigations focused on exercise-induced oxidative stress in hypertensive individuals. Single bouts of exercise can induce an acute state of oxidative stress. Chronic low-to-moderate exercise training improves the antioxidative defense and reduces the disease severity. However, the data that are currently available on the chronic intensive interval training-induced modification of the redox state in hypertensive patients are insufficient to draw adequate conclusions. |
