A novel mitovirus from Buergenerula spartinae infecting the invasive species Spartina alterniflora

Spartina alterniflora,a coastal saltmarsh plant,has been classified as one of sixteen invasive alien species by the State Environmental Protection Administration of China.Nearly forty years of propagation and intru-sion of this plant has resulted in some harmful effects on the economic development of coastal areas,due to its proliferation.
