Interspecific crosses of Bactrocera tryoni (Froggatt) and Bactrocera jarvisi (Tryon) (Diptera: Tephritidae) in the laboratory

F 1 progeny from the cross between two species of Australian fruit flies, Bactrocera tryoni (Froggatt) and Bactrocera jarvisi (Tryon), mated with each other in the laboratory to produce viable F2 offspring. F1 and F2 hybrids were morphologically distinct from their B. tryoni and B. jarvisi parents.
