Zusammenfassung: | Wind records from three weather stations along the coast of Algoa Bay, as well as those from the Port Elizabeth airport, are analysed in order to obtain an understanding of the structure and variability of the surface wind field. Although there are breaks in the data, the most marked yearly variability occurs between May, June and July, and September, October and November. A strong diurnal signal due to land and sea breeze generation is evident at all the sites, while a marked seasonal change occurs in the nature of these breezes. |
