Alternating faciobrachial dystonic seizures in LGI1-antibody limbic encephalitis

The characteristic features are amnesia, seizures and psychiatric disturbance. 1 This patient's episodes are compatible with faciobrachial dystonic seizures, a distinctive manifestation of this syndrome. 1 It is important to recognise faciobrachial dystonic seizures clinically, since antibody tests are not widely available, and prompt treatment with immunotherapy may shorten the time to recovery and prevent cognitive impairment. 2 Acknowledgement: We thank the University of Oxford for carrying out the test of anti-voltage-gated potassium channel and anti-LGI1 antibodies.
