Zusammenfassung:In the 16th century, the influence of the Trent Doctrine and the need to support faith led to a turnaround in the Marian iconography attending to the construction of a new appearance that was revealed in the invocations of the Crown and later on in other local institutions influenced by the palatial language, symbol of luxury and a guide to sanctity. In this article we analyze some of the parts that commemorate that change and show the interweaving of the palatial and the Christian world, reflecting a new iconography which was a sensitive display of the power and glory of the virginal figure of Mary, preface of the Counterreform, banner of the Hispanic monarchy and symbol of Catholicism under Philip II.
