Effects of nutritional status on the drought resistance in Norway spruce
The nutritional status and the tolerance of a 25-30 year old Norway spruce to drought is studied by examining the flushing of new shoots and needle loss. Zusammenfassung: | The nutritional status and the tolerance of a 25-30 year old Norway spruce to drought is studied by examining the flushing of new shoots and needle loss. Several treatments are considered: ammonium sulphate (NS), N-free fertiliser (V), and combinations of ammonium sulphate and drought and N-free fertiliser and drought (VD). Results reveal that nutrient status affected drought resistance. An evidence to this is the differences in the flushing of new shoots rather than changes in nutrient ratios in the needles. |
