Zusammenfassung:Highlights • Shoulder pain or omalgia is one of the main types of osteoarticular pain. • This trial had two groups: true acupuncture (TA) and acupuncture on sham points. • The decrease of pain intensity in the acupuncture group was almost twice the value of the decrease in pain experienced by the control group. • The use of acupuncture to treat impingement syndrome seems to be a safe and reliable technique to achieve clinically significant results.
