DOTACIONES DE INFRAESTRUCTURAS EN LA ECONOMÍA ESPAÑOLA. DE LA EXPANSIÓN A LA CRISIS ()

The paper reviews the evolution infrastructure endowments in Spain and its regions. It focuses on the most recent cycle 1995-2013, comparing the profiles followed once the current crisis had started with those of the two previous crises which took place in the seventies/eighties and at the beginning of the nineties of the past century. The level of territorial disaggregation allows us to analyze the trends followed by the location of the infrastructures in Spain regions making use of the σ-convergence concept. The paper concludes with a review of the role played by infrastructure spending on economic growth using the empirical evidence now available. / El trabajo revisa la evolución seguida por las dotaciones de capital en infraestructuras en España y sus comunidades autónomas. Se centra en el último ciclo completo 1995-2013, comparando las trayectorias seguidas desde el inicio de la crisis con las que tuvieron lugar en los setenta/ochenta y comienzos de los noventa del siglo pasado. La desagregación territorial permite analizar las pautas seguidas por la localización de los distintos tipos de infraestructuras en el territorio utilizando el instrumental de la σ-convergencia.
