Zusammenfassung:Acid-bubbling has been proposed as an alternative method for separating the 14C-carbonate from organic matter in determinations of primary productivity, but adhesion of plankton to the wall of the glass vessel used for bubbling can lead to low primary productivity values. A modified procedure is quite efficient compared with the conventional filtration method.
