The asialoglycoprotein receptor suppresses the metastasis of hepatocellular carcinoma via LASS2-mediated inhibition of V-ATPase activity

Highlights • ASGR1 is downregulated in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and lower levels of ASGR1 expression are associated with higher TNM stages and poorer prognosis in HCC patients. • ASGR1 can decrease the activity of V-ATPase and suppress the metastasis of hepatoma cells through interacting with...

Zusammenfassung:Highlights • ASGR1 is downregulated in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and lower levels of ASGR1 expression are associated with higher TNM stages and poorer prognosis in HCC patients. • ASGR1 can decrease the activity of V-ATPase and suppress the metastasis of hepatoma cells through interacting with LASS2. • These findings suggest that ASGR1 may function as a potential metastasis suppressor in HCC and the combination of ASGR1 and LASS2 may be a promising prognostic predictor for HCC patients.
