Most of the contributors are from North America, and the book has an obvious bias towards the American market, which makes some parts less relevant from a European perspective (eg, some drug doses do not correspond to the licensed European datasheets and the vaccine recommendations differ significantly). Some of the advice can seem excessive from this side of the pond; for example, the book suggests that the initial database for cats with a cat bite abscess should include bloods for haematology and feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV).
