A METHOD TO GROW OBLIGATELY AEROBIC BACTERIA AT INCREASED HYDROSTATIC PRESSURE 1

Culture vessels made of gas-permeable silicone membranes are described in which obligately aerobic bacteria are grown under conditions where mechanical aeration is not possible. The growth of a strain of Pseudomonas putida at 1, 200, and 400 atm is used to demonstrate the methods.
