Bidirectional drainage in younger patients with benign pancreatic duct obstruction

Repeated extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy (ESWL) was unsuccessful. Because impacted stones caused complete obstruction of the MPD in the head of pancreas, it was impossible to insert the guide wire through the major and minor papilla into the distal MPD.
