Zusammenfassung:Solution of geophysical inverse problems implies definition of model parameters from observation data. Depending on the type of operator describing the real tionships between the data and model parameters, inverse problems are subdivided into linear and non linear. In magnetic surveys, the linear inverse problem includes estimation of petromagnetic characteristics of geological objects, while the nonlinear problem deals with the definition of geometric parameters (shape, size, spatial position) of bodies with known magnetic properties [1, 2]. Many automated technol ogies for geopotential field interpretation, which are used when solving practical tasks, are large block iter ation schemes, in whose structure the procedure of physical parameter specification (at fixed geometrical parameters) and that of geometrical parameter specification (at fixed physical parameters) alternate.
