Zusammenfassung:The main purpose of the present work is to verify the hypothesis about the dependence of variability of hydrometeorological conditions in the Russian Far East (RFE) for a long term interval (on the interan nual scale) on the distant effect of the known anoma lous climatic effects that appear quasi periodically in the tropical regions of the Pacific Ocean (El Nio Southern Oscillation, ENSO). This hypothesis was based on the fact that the characteristic disturbances of regional atmospheric circulation system were reported in the El Nio years within the RFE. These distur bances were reported mostly in the southern part of the region and manifested in the form of certain intensifi cation of the winter monsoon and a decrease in the monsoon wind speed in summer. However, further detailed analysis revealed the remarkable preceding phase shift between the climatic disturbances in the RFE and El Nio phenomena.
