The problem of permeability and the filtration structure of karst disturbance zones: Evidence from the Meshchera lowlands

Karst disturbance zones in water soluble rocks are widely distributed geological structures, which are manifested as both disjunctive and plicative structures in the rock mass and on the Earths surface. The for mation of these zones is related to the gravitational displacement of karst cavity walls. The occurrence and formation of karst disturbance zones affect greatly the permeability properties of rock strata, the direction, and the intensity of movement of groundwater, as well as the relationship between the surface and the underground runoff. In general, all of these factors affect the environment and conditions of human vital activity.
