Zusammenfassung:This note summarizes a series of calibration experiments we conducted with the objectives of: (1) empirically determining the conversion factors (degrees/reticle) used to calculate distance for both 7x and 25x power binoculars; (2) determining the variability of reticle measurements under ideal conditions; and (3) determining whether systematic differences in reticle measurement exist among either observers or binocular styles for the 25x or between styles for the 7x binoculars. During the study, an additional objective, (4) clarifying the effect of measurement distance on the conversion factor, was added.
