The treatment for maternal supraventricular tachyarrhythmia in pregnant patients in ED practice

Acute supraventricular tachyarrhythmia (ASVT) in pregnancy is a very important problem because it impairs maternal and fetal blood circulation. [...]the treatment of ASVT should be planned more carefully in the pregnant woman [2] . Intravenous adenosine therapy is in Food and Drug Administration (FDA) pregnancy category C. Animal reproduction studies have shown an adverse effect on the fetus, and there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in humans [5] . Because of limited human data, antiarrhythmic therapy in pregnant women should usually be performed carefully with as low pharmacological doses as possible [6] .
