Zusammenfassung: | In this study, stomach contents of 604 specimens of Scyliorhinus canicula (Linnaeus, 1758) obtained from the North-Eastern Mediterranean between May 2012-March 2014 were examined to determine diet regime. 482 of the sampled fish (79.8 %) had stomachs containing food. For each prey group, percentage numerical presence, percentage weight, frequency of occurrence and relative importance index (IRI %) values were calculated. The most important prey groups for S. canicula living in the North-Eastern Mediterranean were crustaceans and fishes (with IRI=50.08 % and IRI=46.7% , respectively). The second group was Cephalopods with IRI=2.3 %. Sipunculidea (IRI=0.92 %) was the rare prey group. |
