Dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM) is often associated with progressive heart failure or ventricular arrhythmia. Look–Locker magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) allows quantitative evaluation of interstitial fibrosis by measuring the myocardial T1 value, and delayed enhancement (DE) MRI visualizes myocardial scar.
