Zusammenfassung:A refractometric biosensor with a broad range of figure of merit (FoM) is achieved in aqueous media using plasmonic crystals on a CYTOP cladding. Counterintuitively, it is demonstrated that the conventionally defined FoM is not an appropriate benchmark for biosensing performance evaluation due to the divergence of the bulk and surface sensitivities. A new surface sensitivity is thus recommended.
