Zusammenfassung:A detailed interpretation of seismic data in the Euphrates Graben Area (intra the northern margin of Arabian plate) has contributed to describe the tectono-depositional evolution. The stratigraphic sequences from the Paleozoic to recent time within the Euphrates Graben are composed of a number of discrete depositional cycles separated by nondeposition and/or erosional surfaces. This graben could be divided into several categories of structural units based on the degree of deformation and structural geometry. Intensive extensional tectonic activities have caused to create the NW–SE trending Euphrates Rift System in the Late Cretaceous and associated with volcanic intrusion which was distinguished by chaotic reflections on seismic profiles. Furthermore, it led to deposit of continental Derro Rocks. During this period, the Judea and Rutbah Formations exposed to erosion processes left behind unconformity surface at base of Upper Cretaceous is called BKU Unconformity. The Euphrates Graben Area had also exposed uplift events in Palaeozoic time in which volcanic intrusions played an essential role in uplift of some of the Euphrates Area parts as indicated restoration model.
