the choice of Aonides fulgens as neotype of Paraonis tenera Grube, 1872, imposes certain difficulties. A description of Paraonis tenera suggests that it may be one of the spp belonging to the genus Acricidea. Besides, Aonides fulgens has not been found in the same areas as Paraonis tenera. The type-sp of Levinsenia has not been designated yet. The gen was originally established with 2 spp-Aonides fulgens and A. gracilis. These 2 spp are taken as belonging to different gen i.e.A.fulgens is considered as the type-sp of Paraonis, while A. gracilis is the type-sp of Tauberia.
