Zusammenfassung:The presence of classical tradition is strongly felt in recent Spanish poetry. Among the multiple Greco-Roman characters, motifs and themes, mermaids have been a poetizable object in Hispanic poetry for the last fifty years. Its presence is approached from different perspectives where its defining aspects are combined in a perfect postmodern hodgepodge, as the examples collected in this study demonstrates.
