A Supplementary Note On the Larvae of Scyllarides Astori Holthuis (Decapoda, Scyllaridae)

A verification of the identity of S. astori larval stage 1, through hatching of eggs produced by a scyllarid lobster collected at La Paz, Baja California, is reported. The adult proved to be S. astori and the larvae to be identical to the 1st phyllosoma stage initially called Phyllosoma 'X'. The series of subsequent stages are readily identified from specimens collected from the plankton. A hitherto undescribed intermediate stage 23.4 mm long collected at 9{degree}00'S, 98{degree}00'W is illustrated.
