Zusammenfassung: | An organo metallic trans-Diaquabis (glycine) copper (II) Picrate Hydrate (denoted as tDgcH) single crystal was synthesized and grown by restricted evaporation method. It crystallizes in triclinic crystal system, centrosymmetric space group P1¯ with V=714Å3. Negative refractive index (NRI) and transmittance of the grown crystal have been studied by UV–vis-NIR analysis. The grown tDgcPH crystal exhibits admirable antimicrobial activity against the Staphylococcus aureus bacteria. The crystal was also characterized by FT-IR, Raman, etching, TG/DTG and Vicker's microhardness. Presence of piezoelectric resonance peaks at the lower frequency region observed in dielectric measurement may advance the electro-optic coefficient of the crystal. Interpretation about the piezoelectric resonance peaks and negative refraction can promote the crystal for electro-optical modulators and terahertz components. |
