THE SPAWN OF A CYMATID GASTROPOD CYMATIUM PILEARE (LINNE)

A single specimen of a female Cymatium pileare (Linne) was found in the shingle beds near the shore. The snail was carrying a freshly laid egg mass closely attached to the operculum. A preliminary description of the egg mass is reported.
