Zusammenfassung: | An 8-year-old young boy, a known case of tricuspid atresia (TA) type 1, ventricular septal defect (VSD), and pulmonary stenosis, presented with high-grade fever and occipital headache for the past 7 days. Hypoxia, metabolic acidosis, and compensatory polycythemia in cyanotic heart disease cause microinfarcts in the brain providing a milieu for growth of these bacteria. Thick irregular ring enhancement, elevated choline, and decreased N-acetyl aspartate on spectroscopy with raised relative cerebral blood volume (rCBV) on dynamic contrast imaging are the characteristics of GBM. |
