Introduction In general, a chest tube is inserted for drainage to treat conditions such as pneumothorax, hemothorax, and pyothorax. Because of the clinical usefulness of closed thoracostomies, the ability to perform this procedure is an essential skill for not only physicians who treat trauma patients but also general surgeons and emergency physicians [1-2].
