Zusammenfassung:The present article provides an account of a training experience conducted at Universitat Jaume I, which aims at incorporating target language creative writing activities into the literary translation classroom. The article draws on the well-established practice of creative writing as well as on its playful, motivational component, with a view to offering several proposals intended to awaken students' desire to write and thus improve their understanding of the literary artifact. The ultimate goals of these activities are to enhance literary translator trainees' performance as well as their appreciation of both literature and literary translation.
