In May and June 2000, 138 exuviae of this running-water species were collected from a navigable canal in the region of Luenen-Hamm, Northrhine-Westphalia, Germany. One exuvia of G. vulgatissimus was found with an attached Zebra Mussel Dreissena polymorpha..
