Risk factors and outcomes of hospitalized patients with blood infections caused by multidrug-resistant Acinetobacter baumannii complex in a hospital of Northern China

Highlights • Risk factors associated with multidrug-resistant Acinetobacter baumannii include older age, pneumonia, using drainage catheters, and intensive care unit stay. • Multidrug-resistant and mechanical ventilation are identified as independent risk factors for 30-day mortality in patients with bloodstream infection caused by Acinetobacter baumannii. • Our study shows that patients with bloodstream infection caused by Acinetobacter baumannii have a higher mortality rate than patients with multidrug-resistant A baumannii.
