Zusammenfassung: | Identification of the tick was confirmed using the DNA barcoding approach that compares the genetic sequence of the mitochondrial genome with known sequences from voucher specimens. Amplicons of the correct size were generated from both the dog blood and tick blood meal, and sequencing confirmed that this was 100 per cent identical to B canis in both samples. |
