Zusammenfassung: | Uniform cadmium sulphide nanorods of diameter 30 nm have been synthesized and the optical behavior of the cadmium sulphide nanorods suspended in different dispersive media (water, acetone and chloroform) with refractive index varying between 1.33 and 1.45 has been studied. We have observed that the position of the photoluminescence emission maxima of cadmium sulphide nanorods shifts towards shorter wavelength with the increase of refractive index of the dispersive media. The photoluminescence emission shifts are found to be proportional to the refractive index term (
