The strange story of box rust, Puccinia buxi, in Britain

Puccinia buxi is confined to very old trees and bushes of box, Buxus sempervirens, at conserved sites in the British Isles. In spite of the planting of very large quantities of box in modern gardens it has never been found on young planted bushes over the last half-century.
