Zusammenfassung:The spectral characteristics of a carotenoid–porphyrin–fullerene supramolecular compound considered as a promising material for an organic photovoltaic device were studied. The energy efficiency of charge separation by the compound was evaluated by the optical absorption spectra of the solutions of the individual carotenoid, porphyrin, and fullerene molecules by the calculation of the spectral part of the light absorbed by them from all the solar radiation. The possibility of efficient absorption of the long-wavelength part of the solar radiation in the highly concentrated solutions of the compound was shown.
