Zusammenfassung:Female Scylla serrata were exposed to naphthalene at a concentration of 0.02 mg/l for up to 96 h, and effects on esterase activity during vitellogenesis were determined and compared to unexposed controls. Results showed that the lipid content in hepatopancreas and ovary of different ovarian stages of crabs decreased after naphthalene exposure. Esterase activity increased specifically in the ovary during the progressive accumulation of lipid substances. Similarly to lipid content, exposure to naphthalene resulted in decreased esterase activity in hepatopancreas and ovary of different ovarian stages.
