Zusammenfassung: | Highlights • The auditory cortical envelope following response was measured in preschool-aged children using a paediatric magnetoencephalography system. • Results show that, relative to adults, children’s auditory cortex has a limited capacity to encode temporal modulations at rates faster than about 25 Hz. • These results suggest a protracted maturational time course in brain development for cortical processing of temporal modulations. |
