On 9 September 2014 the newspaper "Israel today" reported "The oldest Hebrew map of the land of Israel uncovered." According to that article, the oldest Hebrew map of the land of Israel was in a book of Hebrew commentaries printed in Venice in 1527. In fact, the map in question was drawn by Rabbi Elijah Mizrahi of Istanbul for his commentary on the Pentateuch commentary by Rashi
