Zusammenfassung: | Physiological and biochemical properties of a marine agarolytic association of the bacterium Cytophaga diffluens and the infusorium Uronema marinum were investigated. The agarase activity of the association was shown to be higher than that of the pure bacterial culture at all growth stages under identical conditions. Maximum agarase activity of the association, and of the pure bacterial culture, was observed in a medium containing a small amount of organic nitrogen (0.1% yeast extract). |
