Zusammenfassung: | A series of experiments were performed to probe the tensile behaviour of a cold sprayed reactive metal composite material containing a mixture of nickel and aluminium. Data were acquired at two different strain rates and were collected using high speed photography, strain gauges, force-extension measurements and were analysed using digital image correlation techniques. Comparisons were made with modelling on representative microstructural elements in the CTH code, supporting the conclusion that the material failed in shear rather than tension, in a manner dictated by the microstructure. Fairly high sample to sample variation was observed as well as minimal evidence of strain rate dependent behaviour. |
