Zusammenfassung:Male rats were given daily doses of 3 mg fumonisin B sub(1) by gavage for nine days. Weight gain was reduced in treated rats. Increases in activity of CYP2E, an indicator of metabolic alterations leading to growth retardation, were noted. Hepatic microsome activity of CYP2C11 and CYP1A2 was also found. Other P450 enzymes were unaffected. This result was indicative of reductions in activity of protein kinase due to sphingolipid production inhibition caused by the mycotoxin.
