Zusammenfassung: | Biology of the Japanese green-lined albizzia longicorn, Xystrocera globosa, was studied in Tsukuba, Ibaraki Prefecture. The insect was thought to be partially bivoltine, with three adult emergence periods superficially recognized and with two overwintering stages realized. Adult survivorship and oviposition schedule were described quantitatively. The larvae were kept either singly or in groups and fed an artificial diet. The grouped larvae showed cannibalism from the 2nd instar onwards. Differences in life cycle, adult body size, egg size and egg color between the Japanese race and the nominate race from Sumatra were discussed. |
