Influence of underwater sand extraction on the ecosystem of coastal salt lake Donuzlav (Ukraine)

Bottom biocenoses and ichthyofauna of coastal salt lake Donuzlav (Crimea, Ukraine) were inspected to learn about the impact of industrial extraction of the underwater sand field. The investigation has shown that the scope of extraction does not have a conspicuous negative effect on the local fishery. However, it will take seven years or more to rehabilitate the destroyed bottom biocenoses.
