Zusammenfassung:This article presents a review of the socio-historical development process of agricultural cooperatives in Venezuela. The overall objective is to analyze the socio-historical processes of Venezuelan agricultural cooperativism. its evolution and principle results in terms of land tenure, development of cooperatives and State public policies. The research is descriptive and documentary. It studies the process of peasant organization through cooperatives, largely associated with the pattern of occupation and possession of land in Venezuela, as well as with public policies promoted by the state to boost agriculture at different historical moments. It also describes various ways of implementing this organizational model in different socio-political contexts of Venezuelan reality. While acknowledging flaws in its promotion process, agricultural cooperativism remains a fundamental option for establishing social economy, and will maintain its vitality if its principles and values are respected.
