Zusammenfassung:Aromatic carbonyl compounds in combination with B(C sub(6)F sub(5)) sub(3) are able to activate H sub(2) heterolytically. The reactivity of the carbonyl-B(C sub(6)F sub(5)) sub(3) adduct is initiated by its thermal dissociation into components. After H sub(2) addition, aromatic carbonyl compounds convert into aryl-substituted methanes or alcohols.
